
The Council for
the
Town of Caledon has proclaimed the week of
Sunday, September 9th to Saturday, September 15th as
"Eat Local Week" in Caledon.
During Caledon’s
First Annual Eat Local Week join other residents
throughout Caledon by
eating local as much as possible for one
whole week.
Register your participation
with us and receive a scorecard to track your
progress. Submit the scorecard at the end of the
week for the chance to win great local prizes.
Many
Caledon
restaurants and food retailers are also participating by
offering menu choices that include locally
grown/produced food.
There will be
several events taking
place throughout the week. Join in the great fun and
help support a thriving local food economy!
Eating Local
Eating Local
means to eat food that is produced in one’s local
area or foodshed. It can be grown by local farmers
or processed by local food processors (e.g.
bakeries, dairies, butchers, breweries, wineries).
There are numerous opportunities to purchase and eat
local food in the Caledon area. See our

Throughout the 7
days, Caledon residents are encouraged to prioritize
their food choices in the following manner:
Registration
After you
register, you will receive the Eat Local Week
Package, which includes the Eat Local
Scorecard to help you keep track of how many of your
household’s meals include local food throughout the
week. Submit the scorecard via email at the end of
the week for a chance to win great local prizes.
