Q2: What will you do to help the local agriculture community in Caledon become a   stronger and more vibrant part of our economy?

Mayoral Candidates:

Norm Calder

"The destiny of the agricultural community in large part remains in their own hands. As they sell-off their properties,  developers will move in with intentions of building more sub-divisions. The suggestion to buy locally does not solve the problems the industry faces …. I believe in providing assistance …however  … it cannot be financial …lobbying at the  Provincial  and Federal levels may be our only solutions."

Garry Moore

"I am a firm believer that if you look after the farmer first then the farming business will take care of itself.  As Mayor I will work closely with council and the agricultural community to ensure that they are given the necessary policies to promote success.  I believe that the Mayor and council also are responsible to lobby the other levels of government to ensure the community remains vibrant."

Marolyn Morrison

"In order to help the Agricultural Community become stronger and more vibrant we need to make sure that we have the flexibility in our Town that Agriculture will need in order to become stronger with change.  Besides the flexibility there is an opportunity to work with the Agricultural community to bring their goods and services into our Villages and have our community support the local business of agriculture."
