Q3: Caledon's Economic Development Strategy appears to be similar to our            neighbour's.  It is also a stated objective to have more people live and work in             Caledon. With the current stock of high priced housing, how does your Economic Development Strategy plan to attract firms with high paying jobs and fit with Caledon's image and reputation?

"Council’s purpose is to provide leadership and direction; while, the role of staff is implementation.  As the Regional Councillor for Bolton, I would like to see the current employment lands occupied and contributing to the assessment.  While zoning will define the types of businesses we attract, I would like to see buildings with smaller footprints and larger staff requirements."

"We need more affordable housing so that the workers for these new industries can live here, too.  Additionally, Caledon desperately needs more commercial/industrial taxes, as business pays only 10% of Caledon's taxes."

"I think that our growth strategy should focus on attracting clean commercial, industrial.  I think that a great market that we should be trying to attract computer manufacturers due to our proximity to the rail lines and the amount of trucking companies that have their head quarters in Bolton."
