Countryside Is An Option.

ecoENERGY

This program launched April 2, 2007 with Federal Government incentives to improve household energy efficiency.  It is the replacement for the popular Energuide for Homes program that ended May 2006 and finished granting in March 2007.

The new program does not include a subsidy for evaluation costs.  The base rate for evaluations is $300.00 for the first evaluation and $150.00 for a second evaluation once changes are complete.  Mileage costs are included up to 100 kilometres from office and homes larger than 3000 sq. ft. will have additional costs.

Federal Government rebates are awarded for specific items; for example, $30.00 per window installed.  In order to qualify for that rebate, you would need to have two evaluations – one prior to installation ($300.00 – base price depending on size of house) and one after installation ($150.00).

The Ontario provincial government announced effective June, 2007 that it will match grant funding approved by the Federal government and it will subsidize the cost of evaluations by $150.00.

The REEP was designed by the Elora Centre for Excellence (ECEE). The Caledon-Dufferin REEP is a joint venture between the ECEE and the CCA.
